Political stunt.

Point 1: The Clock is supposed to express scientist opinion about the possibility of destruction from nuclear or biological war.

Point 2: The factors that apparently motivated them to move the hand forward --- are related to civilian, non-military use of nuclear power, and an accident at a civilian nuclear installation. It has NOTHING to do with warfare.

You know what worried me more than this was the solar fusion idea of having a mini sun in a contained area for energy. I think we may blow ourselves up with our search for energy. And I mean inadvertently.

Let's say someone figures out how to use ocean water as a way to power vehicles. If you start draining the ocean THAT will affect the rest of the planet too. This is about balance and playing with mother nature.
