We would not allow murderers to be sentenced based off of a video of them killing someone with no evidence, without say... a body, or their DNA, something to prove their presence. You need some corroborating evidence.
Why this doesn't apply to traffic violations, I have no idea, but it should. I will never pay one of these tickets, I will fight them every time. They are a blatant disregard for judicial process and the burden of proof, let alone your right to face your accuser.
You all missed da boat- years and years ago- traffic violations were de-criminalized in Colorado. Now this terminology sounds good but the practical result of this decriminalization law was the removal of our right to a trial by jury.
When this law was proposed.....
Nobody said boo.
Nobody even cared that the right to trial by peers was about to go away.
I remember when you could request a jury trial for a traffic ticket- you no longer have that right in Colorado. This has paved the way for courts to ram those traffic fines down our throats using the lubricant of no trials. The best you're gonna get is a hearing by a judge.
So you better hope the judge does not play golf with the cops!
Nobody that matters wrote: I can't believe all you scofflaws objecting to a simple law that protects other motorists as well as any pedestrians in the area. It's easy -
Don't hit the line, don't pay the fine.
they should put that on the side of all the RTD busses in Denver.
This crime is a victimless one, until someone is actually harmed. You should be punished for victimless crimes in very limited circumstances under very certain conditions. This one isn't one of them.
I have a problem with the law in the first place, but first and foremost is the way we allow them to be prosecuted.
285 is only Hampden for a few blocks, from River Point Parkway to Cherokee. Hampden runs parallel to 285 the rest of the time. The intersection of 285 and Hampden is at River Point Parkway.

Guys, read my last post, you can buy a simple can of spray and get around such things.....then it does not matter what road is what, plus everthing in greater denver and surrounding towns repeats itself 50 times (Chipotle, Wal-Mart, dispensary, starbucks, dollar store, pet store, Panda east, brown guy getting a beat down from cops, repeat), no need to go that far into the mess down there.
