Gay marriage, and especially gay parenting, has been in the cross hairs in recent days.

On Jan. 6, Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum told a New Hampshire audience that children are better off with a father in prison than being raised in a home with lesbian parents and no father at all. And last Monday (Jan. 9), Pope Benedict called gay marriage a threat "to the future of humanity itself," citing the need for children to have heterosexual homes.

My theory? Homosexual parents are more likely to choose thoughtfully to become parents and really want kids. Too many heterosexual couples become parents by accident, so while both groups can be excellent parents, I would think more bad parents are heterosexuals.

Care to comment on these? I still can't believe they are being allowed to alter the physiology of a child. Sickening. There was a thread on this a while back - perhaps it should be revisited.

You are going to have outliers in every population and when that thread came out, I thought it better to wait until the kid was old enough, 18, to make the decision for him/herself.

And I could also see that some homosexual parents would try to influence their children's sexuality, but I would hope most of them would just want the best for their kids.
