EEOC: High school diploma requirement might violate American

24 Jan 2012 16:58 #1 by Blazer Bob
"The “informal discussion letter” from the EEOC said an employer’s requirement of a high school diploma, long a standard criterion for screening potential employees, must be “job-related for the position in question and consistent with business necessity.” The letter was posted on the commission’s website on Dec. 2."

Yes, let's tell employers who they must hire and what qualifications one wants. Discrimination based on education and experience exists at every level of employment. Take that away and you most often get inferior results. IMHO

Lets give kids even more reason to drop out early..f-ing brain dead idea.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

+1

Liberal response: some people are just too stupid to graduate, what will they do for work?
Let the goverment hire them! I don't want private companies to be forced to hire them.

Let's pander to stupidity and ignorance and force it on potential employers.

Didn't the Pres make comments last night about requiring kids to stay in school until 18?...so how does that fit with Fred's "liberal response"?

Just another tactic in the dumbing down of America and keeping the entitlement/dependent class dependent on the government.

Actually the liberals I got that answer from were on this board in a thread last week. They thought that many of the high school dropouts weren't smart enough to graduate, so they shouldn't be penalized finding work by diploma or even GED requirements. Personally many of the high school dropouts I know were smart enough to graduate but not willing to make the minimal effort it takes to graduate high school. I know mentally challenged teens who managed to graduate.

 Would not hiring high school dropouts violate the Americans With Disabilities Act?

All you have to do is just show up for school. They will pass you through even if you can't read just so they don't have to see you again next year.

What a sad commentary of our education system.
