"The “informal discussion letter” from the EEOC said an employer’s requirement of a high school diploma, long a standard criterion for screening potential employees, must be “job-related for the position in question and consistent with business necessity.” The letter was posted on the commission’s website on Dec. 2."
Yes, let's tell employers who they must hire and what qualifications one wants. Discrimination based on education and experience exists at every level of employment. Take that away and you most often get inferior results. IMHO

Liberal response: some people are just too stupid to graduate, what will they do for work?
Let the goverment hire them! I don't want private companies to be forced to hire them.

Actually the liberals I got that answer from were on this board in a thread last week. They thought that many of the high school dropouts weren't smart enough to graduate, so they shouldn't be penalized finding work by diploma or even GED requirements. Personally many of the high school dropouts I know were smart enough to graduate but not willing to make the minimal effort it takes to graduate high school. I know mentally challenged teens who managed to graduate.
Would not hiring high school dropouts violate the Americans With Disabilities Act?
