Georgia court told Obama slam-dunk disqualified

Georgia citizens today delivered sworn testimony to a court that Barack Obama is slam-dunk disqualified from having his name on the 2012 presidential ballot in the state, because his father never was a U.S. citizen, which prevents him from qualifying as a “natural-born citizen” as the U.S. Constitution requires for a president.

Well, that is the ONLY way possible that we might have a republican president come Jan. 2013.

IIRC, it isn't defined in the constitution but later courts have taken it to mean that to be eligible to be President, the person must have been born in the US.

This seems to have been modified in 2008, because John McCain, born in the Panama Canal Zone was judged eligible.

Not a slam dunk, more like an airball. The courts have ruled that even a citizen born to alien parents on US soil is still a natural born citizen.

"In addition to historical and textual analysis, numerous holdings and references in federal (and state) cases for more than a century have clearly indicated that those born in the United States and subject to its jurisdiction (i.e., not born to foreign diplomats or occupying military forces), even to alien parents, are citizens at birth or by birth, and are natural born, as opposed to naturalized, U.S. citizens."

George Washington wasn't born in the U.S. Neither were Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, JQ Adams or Jackson.

That is not 100% true. There is still some rules and laws that deal with that. The most recent was the ruling dealing with J. McCain
