No drinks here, and I have done my research. I don't accept "wilfull ignorance" as an excuse for misunderstanding reality...so what IS your excuse Navy? Show me where I'm wrong and I'll have no problem apologizing and stating my error. Do you have the same humility?

It is all there, all you have to do is read it. That is why for McCain, legal beagles got involved and made the decision he was a natural born citizen. So there is alot more to it than just one parent being a citizen. (but yes if one parent is a citizen, and meets the other critera, then yes your statement would be correct)

And if i am wrong, no problem I am wrong then, not the first won't be the last.

Resolution 511 states that both parents have to be citizens of the United States, and no I could not figure out if it was passed and signed into law, if not then mute point.

Then there is this that in some ways counters the above

7 FAM 1133.2-1 Section 301 Text as of October 25, 1994, this one talks about the residency requirements which could be confusing

I have alot of knowledge of this as my brother had dual citizenship and when he turned 21, he had to file the proper paperwork for his US citizenship that he took. My father was US Army my mother is German, my brother was born in Germany, not in a US hospital. My mother was already naturalized already, but because he was not born in a US Military hospital, dual citizenship until 21 then he had to do the paperwork
