Is the American public smart enough to make it happen in 2012?

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford
Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus
So this is the guy who pushed a bill stripping Americans' rights, making it acceptable to indefinitely detain citizens without charges or the right to a fair trial. You support this unAmerican and his message of intolerance for those who are tired of the march (sprint) towards fascism we've witnessed this past decade?
Love it or leave it, eh? If West truly wants a banana republic, HE should be the one to leave! Support this guy and you support the continued destruction of your own rights and freedoms.

just so you understand this is my opinion, the NDAA, does not strip away the rights of American Citizens, there are keys in place to prevent it. And yes I have read the bill and the sections you are talking about. I have also read where it says "this does not apply to American Citizens and those legally here with proper documents". Only the US Congress can suspend habeus Corpus, the President does not have that write. Per the US Constitution. So you have your opinion and I have mine. As for LT COL West, It is about time those in Congress started to speak their mind about those that are taking us in the wrong direction, starting with the obama. but again that is my opinion.

Yes he did. And President Obama signed it. You still going to vote for President Obama in Nov. 2012? Be honest.
I have not decided who I'll vote for yet. There are a few people I like, and a few I simply would not vote for. Regardless, its none of your business. The fact Obama signed that bill has almost zero impact on whether I would or would not vote for him. Holding him solely responsible for the bill is a simplistic assessment of the reality of the situation, but hey, simple is plenty for some folks.

In your little fantasy world, Obama is not responsible for anything. I know, it was Bush's fault. He is solely responsible for signing it, and he could have vetoed it to show the country who's side he's on. He didn't veto it, and he did show us who's side he's on. Go ahead and keep tap dancing Plaidvillain, it's mildly entertaining.
