And why does the federal government have to demand that any employer offer a certain kind of health insurance policy. If you are an employee and you don't like the health plan, you can simply quit and find a company and a health plan more to your liking. Why should any employer have to guarantee any certain kind of coverage?

No where in the article, nor in the two links I supplied does anyone say anything about Obama forcing anyone to get an abortion. You made that up. What these articles do address is the fact that a Catholic Hospital or University can be now forced to have birth control provisions in their health plans, which does go against their religious doctrine.

If you don't want an abortion, don't get one, and if youre a Christian Scientist and don't want your cancer treated, don't get it treated..Practice whatever dumb religion you want- He's forcing a choice on people and choices are always good..The more the merrier!

Ah..I'm sure individual employees could call the insurance company and say..."I'll never get an abortion, but just in case, I don't want it covered, ok?" and i'm sure they'll agree to it- If that makes you feel better

You've really been on some religious sovereignty thing lately...let me ask you this: would you be okay with a mosque in America operating under Sharia law? How about if they demand an adulterous woman be stoned? I would think you'd say no, as that would be an assault, and illegal by US laws. So why can a church ignore US employment laws? They're an employer. I'd guess they have an EIN. So there's no reason to treat them any differently from any other employer. They're free to practice their religion, but if they break laws, even in the name of their religion, they must be held responsible, right.

Er... because of this little thing called "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". And I would have no problem with a Mosque operating under Sharia law. And if they broke some US laws practicing Sharia law, then they may be subject to our judicial system. What law has the Catholic Hospital broken by not wanting to cover reproductive services in their health plans?
