Don't watch the Super Bowl - Occupy it, please...

On Sunday... join your fellow Occupy warriors in sprit and don't watch or support the Super Bowl...

The sheer volume of the Super Bowl is overpowering: the corporate branding, the sexist beer ads, the miasma of Madison Avenue–produced militarism, the two-hour pre-game show. But people in the labor and Occupy movements in Indiana are attempting to drown out the din with the help of a human microphone right at the front gates of Lucas Oil Stadium.[/i]

The Republican-led state legislature aims to pass a law this week that would make Indiana a “right to work” state. (they already passed the bill {editor})

The Super Bowl is perennially the Woodstock for the 1 percent: a Romneyesque cavalcade of private planes, private parties and private security. Combine that with this proposed legislation, and the people of Indiana will not let this orgy of excess go unoccupied.

I am going to boycott the super bowl and all organized, unionized sports as well as all of the sponsors of the sports. Are you with me?

Nope. Sorry. I'm gonna eat, drink and have fun watching the game with friends.

Maybe I'll pause for a minute to think about how I'm enabling the fleecing of the common man... but probably not.

No... we need your backing. We should get great support from the liberals at 285 Bound. From all of the threads I've read here from the apologist of the Occupy movement, I suspect half the people in the area will stay away from their TV's on Sunday and find something else to do. There are a lot of alternative activities you could do this Sunday. Plant a tree, adopt a hippie, occupy a Starbucks, purchase something from Apple... the opportunities are unlimited.

Boycott the Super Bowl.

Apple?!?!?!?!?! But what about the children forced to work 25 hour a day shifts from their safety recalled little toddler chairs?

Ironically I am going to a Super Bowl Party in the People's Republic of Boulder, but I was warned by the host to limit any political talk since he hasn't come out to his neighbors about his political affiliation.
But if even Boulderites are ignoring the OWS...

BTW, why don't the bums and dissidents of this movement occupy Boulder?

I don't think their boring, but they are starting to be annoying..kinda like a bad mosquito infestation that cost each city they occupy millions.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
