A striking trend in Congress's reaction to Wednesday's protests against the PROTECT IP Act and the Stop Online Piracy Act was the partisan divide in the Senate. At least 16 Republican Senators—more than a third of all GOP members in the body—declared their opposition to PIPA for the first time on Wednesday. In contrast, as far as we can tell, only three Democrats jumped off the bandwagon that day.

Why were Republicans so quick to abandon PIPA?

Because liberals are beholden to Hollywood, to the Michael Moore types. Many liberals are usually well meaning but highly analphabetic cretins who have been deluded into following unsound philosophies by their peers. The left is comprised of people of questionable intellect and little or no ability to elevate themselves above the mindless droning of the Hollywood masses.

Liberals practice beliefs and behaviors that are harmful to them and others. They do this knowingly but they simply do not care that their actions are harmful as long as they are allowed instant gratification of whatever they are feeling at the moment. Their masters in the media, Hollywood and entertainment warned them not to jump ship... and they didn't

EXCLUSIVE: Hollywood Moguls Stopping Obama Donations Because Of President’s Piracy Stand: “Not Give A Dime Anymore”

EXCLUSIVE: Internet sites on their SOPA-Strike may be conducting a blackout but Hollywood studios are conducting a boycott. I’ve learned that Hollywood studio chiefs individually and as a group are drawing a line in the sand on the piracy issue with the Obama re-election campaign and refusing to give any more donations. The blowup came after President Obama on Saturday dashed moguls’ hopes that he would remain on the sidelines in the dispute over the U.S. House Of Representatives’ Stop Online Piracy Act and the U.S. Senate’s Protect IP Act.

And since when does ones personal opinion needs links? Evidently my statement "left is comprised of people of questionable intellect" is born our since you couldn't find this information for yourself. Glad I could be helpful to you. Anytime you need anything... just ask!

There is a split in Hollywood between the moguls and the actors. The actors are usually not smart enough to realize that the continued pirating of their movies will eventually cut their paychecks, so they support attacking SOPA.

But I think casting SOPA as an attack on free speech & threatening internet access is a winning strategy for any politician.

Odd that they're finally trying "the truth" as a way to get votes....
