I was suprised to not see any threads about this brouhaha. People here don't care?
First of all, I think Komen should get to put their money where they want to and not face blackmail threats from the liberal left. But I also think it is good that the Komen donors now know that donations are going to Planned Parenthood, and not always for free mammograms for the poor.

Ask your health care provider, health department, or staff at your local Planned Parenthood health center about where you can get a mammogram in your area.
Komen’s entire annual grants to Planned Parenthood were only about $700,000. Not a lot of funding there really. This just politics. Since this flap started last week ,Planned Parenthood's donations from others went up $400,000.

Fred, perhaps they originally pulled their finding because of blackmail from the right. That makes as much sense as the liberal left was the reason they reinstated it...my understanding is women in general cried foul .
Apparently, NOT just women....Lance Armstrong and Mayor Bloomberg stepped up to SUPPORT Planned Parenthood, after this thinly
veiled "threat/thought" was brought to light.
I have to wonder how much SGK will lose in donations because they apologized and reinstated their donations to planned parenthood. Many people were unaware of this and now will avoid donating money in that direction.

You could be right. But maybe since fund raising was down this year, komen decided to go back to their original mission. Or try to be un-political in their donations. Clearly this was a miss step and will hurt future fundraising.
