Colorado Caucuses Tuesday?

Any (R's) going? Are the Dems even holding one this year? And any Dems plan to show up at the Republican and vote for Ron Paul or someone equally un-electable?

This will be my first Colorado Presidential Caucus, and I am interested to see what it will be like. I have voted in Colorado Presidential Primaries before, even voted for Gov. Jerry Brown one year when he was running against Clinton.

BTW, I will be voting for Ron Paul, the only choice who actually has done something to cut spending besides talking about it.

I've gotta look that up. I'm registered Rep. Unfortunately, I've been ignoring all the crap going on with the worthless commentaries by opponents and the liberals just ragging on everyone. I need to take a look at each contender's published platform.

Due to re-districting you may be in a different precinct, your meeting location may be different and certainly your precinct number may have changed. You should check with your county’s GOP website and/or you precinct committee person.

Caucus begins at 7pm; you should arrive early to make sure you are registered. If you have problems registering, your District Captain or committee person should be able to help you with that, and point you in the proper direction.
Once the caucus starts the first order of business should be to select new precinct committee persons, precinct committee people will become part of you county’s central committee they will serve as chairman, secretary, and treasurer for the meeting. In Jeffco the presidential preference poll is requested next so the results can be tabulated in time for the 10: pm local news.
Election of delegates to county assembly, congressional and state assemblies should follow. At the assemblies you will actually get to vote for who will represent the GOP for election in various elections at various level, state, county, district etc. You must be a delegate or alternate at the county level to be eligible to be a delegate or alternate at the congressional or state level. Because this year is a presidential election year, there may be the opportunity to attend the national GOP convention.

Suggestions:
If you want to be selected as a committee person or delegate, make sure you bring your neighbors who will support you. Stack the caucus. Bring your check book or cash, there are fees associated with attending the various assemblies. Not so in Park County, the party picks up your fees. The fees range from $10 for the county assemblies to $60 for the state assembly. In Jeffco the fees are due the night of the caucus. The fees are used to help pay for the venue.

If you haven’t attended political assembly or convention I would heartily suggest that you do.

You must have been a registered Republican on or before December 7, 2011 to be eligible to participate in tomorrow’s caucus.

I'm going and I will be writing in a candidate of my choosing. I think that the populace will be better served by a candidate of their choosing, whom they elect, than by any politician who is seeking to hold the office. Though I truly believe than any of the four will be an improvement over the person who currently occupies the Oval Office, I think that there are better choices out there than the four remaining hopefuls seeking the nod of the Republican Party to challenge Obama in the upcoming election. It is for one of these that I will be casting my vote and I hope to persuade the rest of my fellow citizens in my precinct that this should be our course of action. If we can get the ball rolling, there are enough primaries and caucuses left for the effort to be heard that we are tired of parties running the show and that the people themselves are going to reclaim the process of choosing for themselves instead of being limited to choosing from those who have declared their desire to be the next occupier of the office.
