How Target Figured Out A Teen Was Pregnant Before Her Father

I feel Kings and Safeway are holding me hostage with those cards. I cannot get a sale with out it? And they have my name number and all the items that I buy? They know when I have my period (when I buy feminine products) , when I have the flu (If I buy pepto bismol), when I have sex (if/when I buy condoms), If I am pregnant, if I have babies (baby food), etc. That sure is alot of info in my book. Who are the gatekeepers of all this info? I bet if I pushed it, it would hold up in court. Let's do a class action suit.

You are not hostage, just pay for what you want, privacy, and do it by paying some little amount more for stuff from the store. If you were worried about the cost of things at the Grocery store, you would not be in the state of CO.

I love walking through stores in other parts of the country....it is like food is free. We pay more for every last thing up here, in the private sector because they can get away with it and in the public sector because they don't even have to worry about getting away with it, they make "it" up as they go along and everyone just goes along. You will pay tax on food in Breck, you pay a PIP on food in Conifer, and those are taxes that you had a say in and we let those happen (taxing food is shamefull, especially in a state where most cannot even legally grow their own food).

Or simply get a new card with a fake name. Just say you don't have a license. Give them GOPtwin's address and buy all the tampons you want. Think about it, do you think illegal immigrants are paying full price....I bet not.

I actually will most likely get a new card after this conversation. I don't give my info away for free. I have a new walmart market going in right down the street from me. I hear this is just a walmart food only store. It will be interesting to see how that goes. I miss the Albertson's we had over there. They did not force those cards.

Your movements are tracked by the GPS devices in your car and mobile phone. Your purchases are tracked by your credit, debit, and membership cards. Your thoughts are mined from the internet forums.

Those who think that they are existentialist are easily exposed as creatures of habit and of shallow mind with data mining by corporations and government. Plus, your future behavior, crimes, and passions can be predicted. They have you pegged!

In fact, this forum does the same thing in a limited form.

This forum does not mine info you are thinking of Facebook. All you have to give here is an email and a user name. It is very easy to be anonymous with a gmail email and a user name that has nothing to do with you. Any other info you give is totally public and up to the user to decide what to say about themselves.

Do what I do - enter a family member's number to access the discounts - I'm sure they're surprised that someone from another state is buying at KS regularly! I don't get the fuel discounts, they do, but I'm perfectly okay with that as I don't frequent Shell gas stations all that often anyway and I'm happy to give back to my family.

I do shop at Safeway and use a card with my info though, and I don't care if they track what I buy - I do like getting targeted coupons and have nothing to hide. But I fully support other people's wishes to have their purchases remain private and I think it's underhanded to tie it to savings. Give everyone the discount and some other benefit for using the card.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

I've got a KS card I have never registered, and a Safeway card that has the wrong last name, and address. Now, I didn't plan it that way, it's just that I filled out the application and have terrible handwriting.

I'm not exactly planning on fixing it, though...
