........"Ms. Hornaday’s article contains a number of howlers–I love her reference to “the Obama era of surgical warfare”–but she was far from the only one to float the idea that Act of Valor is propaganda. Other liberals have called the movie a poor act of military propaganda, A display of heroism or American propaganda? a flashy piece of propaganda, Hollywood war propaganda, and the Pentagon’s amnesia-inducing propaganda. We could go on and on, but let’s close with this one: “Andrew Sullivan at The Daily Beast is asking whether Act of Valor is propaganda.” "
I saw Act Of Valor, liked it, and it was propaganda. But propaganda I liked.
The week before I had seen "Safe House" which was propaganda too, but in this propaganda, the CIA people were evildoers who didn't care who they killed to advance their careers.

Wait... Obama authorized the special forces to take out Bin Laden... this movie is about special SEAL forces... this is propaganda? What was those many-week flag waving by the Obama administration, the left media and lefty website all about? Was that propaganda?

So have members of the military:
Rear Adm. Dennis Moynihan, the Navy’s chief spokesman also explained, “There was a series of initiatives we launched to try to increase the number of SEALs we have in the Navy . … This film project was one of those initiatives.
He continued, “The SEALs looked at that from a security perspective, and they decided it was a risk worth taking [in light of] the recruiting imperative.”
Some former military have problems with it too.
Retired Lt. Gen. James Vaught, a former Army Delta Force commander, went even further at a special operations conference earlier this month, publicly blasting Adm. William H. McRaven, ninth commander of United States Special Operations Command and a SEAL himself, for making media darlings out of the SEALs.
Believe me, it won’t be long before their names come out,” he said. “Somebody’s going to know who these guys are, and their identities are going to be compromised.”
BTW, one of the SEAL's in the movie, non-speaking part, Adam Vaughn, IIRC, did die in the Chinook shoot down only a little while after the Osama compound raid. so the names are getting out. How dangerous that is? I don't know.
