For the same reason the right was quiet when Bush did it, and has been whining about the same thing ever since Obama took office. As I said, hypocrisy is the norm around here...but you may be able to prove me wrong (I doubt it though).

Clinton was not impeached because he cheated. He was impeached because he lied while under oath in a matter that was material before a court of law. He was required to relinquish his license to practice law for the exact same reason by the Supreme Court of Arkansas. He committed perjury while he was the executive of the federal government. Having taken an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution he swore a false oath to tell the truth in a matter before a court of law for the purposes of usurping the power of the court to administer justice according to the law. That's what he was impeached for.Sunshine Girl wrote: This is the problem that I have with what you said (highlighted in blue) and generalizations like that. I have voted for both parties. What Clinton did was also a dick head move, but I don't think any President should automatically be impeached because he cheated. JFK cheated all the time! Clinton hurt his wife and daughter too and I couldn't stand that aspect of him and what he did. I'm sure "many people on the left" felt the same way. It's not a political thing in my opinion. No matter what party you are in (or none at all) you are an a** for cheating. Period.

All true, but I really shouldn't have brought up Clinton...not very relevant to this story. Sorry, my bad.PrintSmith wrote:
