Having just spent 6 months working there, I'm aware that Ford is built in Dearborn; Chryslers are pretty much built in Flint; and GM is mostly built in Detroit. And I apparently know more about it than you do. I also know that trying to use the word "Detroit" as some kind of generic word for government intervention when the City of Detroit is a Michigan problem, and a Detroit City Council matter shows how stupid you are.
You realy have never heard of the Big 3 domestic auto companies referred to as Detroit? Amazing.
OK, let me rephrase for our sticklers, the goverment bailout of Chrysler & GM.
And talk about a wierd bailout, to preserve American auto production, we are going to let Fiat, an Italian company buy Chrysler at a discount.
But thanks for playing.

In the meantime, every one of those statements can be directly traced to GOP (or conservative talk-radio) talking points and quotes from speeches. If they are exaggerations, then perhaps one need look no further than the GOP from whence they came.
