Earth Hour is going to take place tonight beginning at 2030 local and ending at 2130 local. What specifically does anyone think this hour of darkness will really accomplish aside from eliminating light for an hour?

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

It is simply a symbolic event. Lets people take a little time to examine their energy consumption. Me? I had the lights turned out at home...because I was out to eat.

The April Fool hath spoken. Welcome back RT.

Earth hour did nothing but caused a few bruised shins from people shuffling around in the dark for a bit trying to find a light switch.

Thanks.... hello back at ya.

It's also created a bunch of babies that will be aborted.

But you do bring up an interesting point. Earth Hour is just a warm up to the April's Fools Day. Enjoy Earth Hour...because in less than three hours it's the real April Fools Day.

By the way, I celebrated Earth Hour at 8:30 p.m .last night.... I charged my Iphone with a solar charger by using the lights in my kitchen - it took three hours. It's really cool.
