Actually I think Putin's Russia is more a troublesome thorn in our shoe than a actual enemy. Their military is in tatters, they mainly just like to push our buttons by not agreeing to sanctions against North Korea, Iran, and now Syria.

but recall the Rebels "lost" the US civil war - but clearly won reconstruction (thus the deep depression in the Yankee Rust Belt).
So the vanquished should be treated with respect and caution. We did a great job of this post WWII - and both Europe and Japan have excellent economies and we enjoy the fruits of our deportment.

Your right. I'm still concerned that a weak missile defense against people who have never shown any reason to be trusted is good policy. I want to keep your sorry-ass from being blown to hell in a hand basket just as much as I'm concerned about the rest of us. I guess I have to take the good with the bad.
