Van Jones is an ultra-leftist from San Frannie. He was so far to the left with his radical environmentalism- that Obama made him his "green czar".

He resigned after many on both sides of the political isle protested having a communist in the Obama cabinet.

No- this is not just an accusation- Jones admits he is a communist, unlike Obama himself. But all you need to know about Obama can be learned from the company he prefers to keep.

In 1992, while still a law student at Yale, Jones participated as a volunteer legal monitor for a protest of the Rodney King verdict in San Francisco. He and many other participants in the protest were arrested. The district attorney later dropped the charges against Jones. The arrested protesters, including Jones, won a small legal settlement. Jones later said that "the incident deepened my disaffection with the system and accelerated my political radicalization."[17] In October 2005 Jones said he was "a rowdy nationalist"[14] before the King verdict was announced, but that by August of that year (1992) he was a communist.

And he is also a Truther. He believes the 9/11 attack was an inside job concocted by the United States government.

Yup, definitely a nutjob...no wonder Obama made him a czar.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

interesting that SC posted a thoughtful commentary and rather than discuss the topic, the haters instead attack the messenger.

Those that employ Alinsky's tactics have no standing to complain when they are on the receiving end of them.

"Oakland-based Solar Trust of America filed for bankruptcy this week, leaving its planned multibillion-dollar plant in California on ice. The company declared itself insolvent after its parent—Germany’s Solar Millennium—filed for bankruptcy in December, and Solar Trust realized it wouldn’t be able to pay a $1 million rent check due April 1.

Solar Millennium, in turn, had been hoping to sell a controlling stake in Solar Trust to the German company, solarhybrid, until solarhybrid also filed for bankruptcy in March. Then there’s Q-Cells, another German solar company, which also filed for bankruptcy this week, sharing that fate with Solon, the Berlin-headquartered photovoltaic firm that went bust in December."

Some things to think about

Germany is currently investing more money into coal plants. The coal they burn is lignite coal, not the low sulfer coal we have in the U.S., but the 'nasty brown stuff'. So, to speak of Germany's success with energy you need to look at the whole picture.

Wind and sun are resource like anything else in the sense that they are feasable at certain times and locations and not at others. They are only part of an overall energy strategy.

Here's something else to think about. (While estimates do vary slightly) In Germany they generate about 8% of their electricity from wind. Here in Colorado, I think it's now up around 7%, and growing.

Many politicians want us to lower our expectations about the economy. I say it is time to raise them. For too long, we have acted as if we had to choose between strong economic performance and strong environmental performance. We have been trapped in the “jobs versus the environment” dilemma.

The time has come to create “jobs FOR the environment.” We seem to forget that everything that is good for the environment is a job.

Every kind of American can and should adopt the clean energy agenda: liberals, conservatives, and libertarians; farmers, ranchers, and urban property owners; struggling youth and entrepreneurs.

Where economic and energy policy meet, we should calculate not only what we spend, but also what we save.

Van Jones group plans American’s “Arab Spring” revolt

An Egypt-styled “Arab Spring,” which has put radicals in charge of the government, will be launched in the United States this spring with a war on “corporate power, Wall Street greed and the political corruption of the 1 percent,” according to the group headed by former Obama green aide Van Jones.

“They’re really not going to like the 99 percent Spring,” said Rebuild the Dream in an organizing email Friday.

The plan for now is to hold protest training sessions around the nation next week. Over 900 are scheduled so far.

Once ready, the group and dozens of others, notably MoveOn.org and labor unions, will launch the “99 Percent Spring” offensive against government and financial centers.

“We're at a crossroads as a country. In recent years, millions have lost their jobs, homes have been foreclosed, and an unconscionable number of children live in poverty. We have to stand up to the people who caused of all this and confront the rampant greed and deliberate manipulation of our democracy and our economy by a tiny minority in the 1%,” said Caroline Murray, of Rebuild the Dream Innovation Fund, in the organizing email.

"Germany has just opened its first coal-fired power plant in eight years, reports Bloomberg, as the country grapples with renewable energy subsidies that are driving up electricity costs.

The German energy company Steag says its 725-megawatt coal plant in the western part of the country will begin commercial operations later this year, after “optimization works and testing” have been completed. This will be the first hard-coal-fired plant to come online in the country since 2005.

This is just the beginning of coal’s German comeback, as ten new hard-coal plants are scheduled to come online in the next two years, according to Germany’s electrical grid regulator. This will boost the country’s coal capacity by 33 percent, according to analysts.
