As these devices will likely record all activity, and getting behind the wheel and attempting to start the car is currently a crime if you are drunk, the devices, which will not only record, but will be networked, will likely result in conviction of many arrest.
This could stop drunk driving by people with new cars as we know it....and increase the value of used cars.
I think this will secure meth's place as the new soccer mom drug in the front range (I am getting tired of hearing about this ladies).
The idea is to find out whether it would be feasible to demand that automakers include this technology as standard equipment in future cars. That's a big departure from the way so-called interlock devices currently work.
Just what we need, another Federally mandated electronic gizmo in all cars. GPS miles driven and black boxes coming soon too. Probably run by a Windows operating system complete with viruses and spyware! LOL
If you want to be, press one. If you want not to be, press 2
Republicans are red, democrats are blue, neither of them, gives a flip about you.
In our state - as the billboards declare - "Got a Buzz - DUI". A young lady (110lbs) - two glasses wine
do it at home - do not drive. CLOSE most bars. Coors must love this silliness. Prohibition FAILED.....duhhhhhhh. Prohibition de facto will make billions for vendors (GO TO U R PISSED) that sell devices of all sorts........and lawyers.
Hey-I hate government as much as the next guy but I don't think they are interested in logging all my activity 24/7, and if they were, they wouldn't be my government for very long..
Although we do have idiots here who post things like "if you don't have anything to hide, let them search you" so I do worry about moron America, they can be talked into anything.
