RNC Spokeswoman: Republican Economic Platform Will Be The Bush Program, ‘Just Updated’

During an interview last week on The Fernando Espuelas Show, Alexandra Franceschi, Specialty Media Press Secretary of the Republican National Committee, said that the Republican party’s economic platform in 2012 is going to be the same as it was during the Bush years, “just updated”:

ESPUELAS: What do you mean by economic security? Regardless of who the ultimate nominee is, what’s the general idea that the RNC, or the Republican party in general, has in terms of this message?

FRANCESCHI: Well, it’s a message of being able to attain the American dream. It’s less government spending, which a Tarrance Group poll, came out last week actually, shows that the majority of Hispanics believe that less government spending is the way out of this deficit crisis. It’s lowering taxes so small businesses can grow and they can employ more people, because we understand that the private sector is the engine of the economy. It’s not the government. [...]

ESPUELAS: Now, how different is that concept from what were the policies of the Bush administration? And the reason I ask that is because there’s some analysis now that is being published talking about the Bush years being the slowest period of job creation since those statistics were created. Is this a different program or is this that program just updated?

FRANCESCHI: I think it’s that program, just updated.

Wow... If you loved the stagnation and recession of the Bush years, stay tuned! If you loved the lopsided increase of wealth among the richest, at the expense of the middle class, stay tuned!

I love it when the RNC lays it out there and comes clean about their plans.

Still better than Obama's plan right? Record amount of debt, more old people having to work past their retirement, 1/2 of new college graduates out of work. Very high youth unemployment rate.
What is that, a million dollars per job, the Solyandra plan, and then the company shuts down, replaced by Chinese made solar panels.

I can see why Obama is running on the Buffett Tax, because his economic policy has been a disaster.

Yeah, it's too bad that Bush was killing jobs at the rate of 750,000/month for the 4-6 months prior to Obama being sworn in...And it's great that Obama's administration has already created 2 million more jobs in the last 3 years than Bush was able to create in 8 years.

But never fear--the GOP is all for letting the interest rates on student loans DOUBLE making it even harder for people to go to college...(and put more money in the pockets of the banks making the loans.) I can assure you we won't let the 18-34 crowd forget who is in favor of such a rate hike.

Still trying to make something out of Bush's Solyndra program? rofllol  Yeah, in the grand scheme of things $500million in loan guarantees would just about cover the upkeep on Romney's 5 houses, and a new car elevator... Of course, it won't cover the cost of the cleanup of the BP oil spill disaster caused by the Bush Administration's lax enforcement of the laws for offshore drilling.

Keep it up... Jus' keep doin' what yer doin'... :woo hoo: rofllol

Obama still isn't creating jobs faster than population increases. And you keep trotting out the job creation record of Bush, but college graduates were being hired and college student debt wasn't a ticking time bomb.
A lot easier to pay back a college loan when you can get a job.

Romney was paying for his own upkeep, not billing the US taxpayer like Michelle Obama's latest safari to Africa with her daughters in tow.

I keep trotting out Bush's job-creation record because A) it's TRUE, and B) you continue to conveniently ignore it, and C) you continue to try to hang the consequences around Obama's neck, and I'll continue to point out that it is a lie. Tough.

Oh, and "foreign trips" like:

Foreign trips
During her husband's second term, Laura Bush was more involved in foreign matters. She traveled to numerous countries as a representative of the United States.

As First Lady, she took five goodwill trips to Africa.[49] The purpose of these has mostly been to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and malaria, but Bush has also stressed the need for education and greater opportunities for women.[50] She has taken many other trips to other countries to promote and gain support for President Bush's Emergency Plan for AIDS relief;[51] these countries include Zambia (2007),[52] Mozambique (2007),[53] Mali (2007),[54] Senegal (2007),[55] and Haiti (2008).[51]

In mid-2007, she took a trip to Burma where she spoke out in support of the pro-democracy movement, and urged Burmese soldiers and militias to refrain from violence.[56] Later that October, she ventured to the Middle East. Bush said she was in the region in an attempt to improve America's image by highlighting concern for women's health, specifically promoting her breast cancer awareness work with the US-Middle East Partnership for Breast Cancer Awareness and Research.[56][57] She defined the trip as successful, saying that stereotypes were broken on both sides.[56]

You mean like that? Is that our manufactured-outrage-of-the-day? Get over it...It's a perk of the office.

.

But then you conveniently omit the unemployment rate through most of Bush's presidency, then you conveniently omit the main cause of the recession which was the housing/credit crash....the fault of BOTH parties.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

And 8% unemployment now when there are so many more people out of the workforce and not even looking anymore in not an accomplishment.

Lets see, its the updated Bush economic platform, or the "we don't have a plan, but we know that we don't like your plan" platform.

Yep, were hosed either way.

Hope and change is now "well it could be worse". LOL
