GOP Super PAC Ads Attack Obama With Misinformation (Read: LIES)

Top Republican groups released web videos attacking President Barack Obama last week with an emphasis on the president's record on green-energy investments, particularly his use of stimulus dollars -- but the claims don't pass the Pinocchio test.

The American Future Fund and Americans For Prosperity both released ads hitting the Obama campaign with claims that have been debunked by numerous fact-checking organizations, as well as citing erroneous news reports that have since been withdrawn. The two Republican groups, which are expected to spend up to $8 million in battleground states, use many of the same statistics to make outsized claims about the administration's misuse of "billions" of stimulus dollars overseas.

Imagine my surprise... :VeryScared:

Super PAC Attack Ads Paved Way For Explosion in Independent Group Spending In Presidential Primaries

Leading the charge by a significant measure has been Restore Our Future, the pro-Romney super PAC.

Having made their debut in presidential primaries after two court rulings, most prominently the Supreme Court's Citizens United ruling, super PACs drove spending, particularly on attack ads, in the primary election like never before. Spending by independent groups like super PACs exploded by more than 300 percent from the 2008 primary season.

In 2008, independent group spending in both the Republican and Democratic primaries totaled $26.11 million. That number reached $83.87 million in the 2012 primary, and that's with only the Republican nomination being contested.

"We've never seen this proportion of third-party advertising, and we've never seen this level of third-party spending," said Kathleen Hall Jamieson, director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center. "The money imbalance is stark this year."

OMIGOD, this can't be true! A political ad lies? Perish the thought.

Even worse, how about those new Obama ads that speculate that Mitt Romney wouldn't have the cojones to take out OBL. Imagine that, Obama is so brilliant, he knows what Mitt Romney would have done in a similar situation.

Further speculation, I don't think Obama did make the call to take out Osama, clearly the only one with the guts to make that call is Michelle.

They didn't "speculate"...They play the video-clips of him saying he wouldn't spend the money, and that going after a target in Pakistan should NOT be done.

And Gov. Etch-a-Sketch has written several rather memorable articles about "letting Detroit go bankrupt."

Dang..Don't you hate it when the PROOF is there?...

"I don't think .... " Yeah, like your ruminations and baseless opinions have any weight...

It still isn't proof, only speculation. If you want to compare what a man campaigned on to what he actually did in office, refer again to Obama.

So many people who run for President promise to keep us out of international affairs, even "W" ran on this, but once they get into office and see daily intelligence briefings, it is hard to do. The lure of keeping "Pax Americana" going is like a siren.

I don't know why anyone would use misinformation about Obama when Obama himself has provided a rich treasury full of real information to use against him and his commie comrades.

The only mis-informations around here are coming from LJ.

Imagine that - people availing themselves of their 1st Amendment right to engage in political speech once the Supreme Court reaffirmed that they did indeed possess that right went up once unconstitutional restrictions placed upon it were removed. I'm shocked I tell you, shocked, to find out that people wanted to say more than the government would permit them to say.

Arianna Huffington also disagrees with the Obama team and LJ about using the Osama death for political reasons.

And I don't have to agree with Ariana Huffington on everything, any more than I have to agree with Obama on everything.

Isn't it great we've got video of Romney telling us his positions on everything instead of having to depend on the lying GOP. Of course there's a better way... If his lips are moving he's lying...or changing positions again.
