There are a large number of bills passed by the House sitting on the table in the Senate at the moment waiting for the do nothing Democrats to act upon which address these issues. Problem gets to be that without the 60 seat majority that enabled them to act unilaterally coupled with an unwillingness to compromise with the minority party coupled with Reid thinking his primary purpose is to make sure nothing lands on Obama's desk with which he might disagree what you wind up with is a Senate incapable of fulfilling even the largest of its constitutional duties - passing an annual budget.
I do appreciate your willingness to correct the misinformation gleened from the echo chambers though. It gives me hope that a discussion is possible even though both of us are avowed partisans of conflicting philosophies regarding the proper size and limits on the delegated powers administered by the federal government.
