My reference to New Guinea - kuru , essentially an identical disease to Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and bovine spongiform encephalopathy, also known as mad cow disease (which has recently been positively identified in the US, btw), all a form of transmissible spongiform encephalopathy . It's most likely caused by prions, or infectious proteins - unique in the world of diseases because the rest are caused by virus, bacteria, or fungi, i.e. DNA- or RNA-based organisms. Since the prion proteins occur naturally in our own bodies, our immune system doesn't recognize them as invaders and attack, and there is some evidence that prions can "mutate" normal prion proteins into infectious, disease-causing prions just by touching them. There is currently no method which removes prions from infected tissue without also destroying the food in the process - heating, radiation, physical manipulation such as pulverizing, or chemical treatment - so if you eat infected meat, you're taking a huge risk at having prions get into your brain and destroy it, bit by bit, making it look like a sponge by the end of the disease course (hence, the "spongiform encephalopathy").The Liberals GOP Twin wrote: What is the problem with consuming an aborted fetus other than possible medical problems if the fetus is not process correctly as food? We eat all kinds of stuff that has been cleaned, processed and packaged. I see nothing wrong with doing the same thing with a fetus.

Can't answer the question? What is the problem with consuming an aborted fetus other than possible medical problems if the fetus is not process correctly as food? We eat all kinds of stuff that has been cleaned, processed and packaged. I see nothing wrong with doing the same thing with a fetus.

No, they can't, for human material, cow, or sheep, based on what I could find with a Google search. I saw one paper describing a method using SDS (a detergent), published by the man (Dr. Stan Prusiner, he was a big deal at UCSF where I worked for a short while, and later had the opportunity to learn more first-hand about his research from a neurologist colleague who had worked in his lab for a few years) who discovered prions and subsequently won the Nobel for his work, but I've not seen this method implemented for food processing. The problem is it's nearly impossible to test for prion contamination, and there's no quick catch or fail-safe for false negatives - the incubation period can last decades and there are no drugs or other treatments that can cure it, unlike E.coli contamination for instance. Current SOP is to monitor the behavior of the animals and if they present suspicious symptoms, remove them from herds, euthanize them, and test their brain tissue; if positive, they are completely destroyed and their parts NOT fed back into the farm animals as feed. The Liberals GOP Twin wrote: So you're saying these prions cannot be "cleansed" out of dead human material even by the normal food processing methods?

He finally reaches the purity to consume the best meal in the world and after that...............
Do I have to add that he is the next meal?

Which Companies Are Using Aborted Human Fetuses in Their Food?
Last week, Oklahoma State Senator Ralph Shortey introduced a bill that would ban "the manufacture or sale of food or products which use aborted human fetuses." But which foods or products use aborted human fetuses? Let's investigate.
NPR speculates that Shortey's bill has to do with a recent boycott aimed at PepsiCo for working with a company called Senomyx that "has been accused of using proteins derived from human embryonic kidney cells in its research." Quoth Shortey:

Senomyx (NASDAQ: SNMX) is an American biotechnology company working toward developing additives to amplify certain flavors and smells in foods. The company claims to have essentially "reverse engineered" the receptors in humans that react for taste and aroma, and that they are capitalizing on these discoveries to produce chemicals that will make food taste better.

Killing fetuses and using them for a consumptive product pushes the limits of your gag reflex. What's your problem, it's not human, it's simply biological material. We manufacture insulin from highly purified pancreas extracts which is infused into a humans system, and where do you get off suggesting that there is something wrong with another cultures practices. Dog meat is eaten by a number of cultures. Colorado allows the processing and sale of horse meat to humans. A fetus is just more biological material that has various uses for humans. Your attitude is not very progressive.
