You say that like you haven't already been doing just that on a regular basis. Do we really need to go back and quote your posts that rail against "The conservatives" the same way that the crew of the enterprise referred to "the borg"?

Maybe they finally decided that speaking in your own language would aid in communication?

More likely I got sick and tired of being taken to task over something that the conservatives here do on a daily basis. If you don't want liberals to make blanket statements....then don't make them on your own side.....simple really.....since it appears to be OK for the conservatives to make what ever claims they want, be they true, false, or fantasy I'm not concerned what you all think of how I or any other liberal posts.

But there's a big difference. Liberals really do all think the same.

When it comes to thinking that conservatives are a few bottles short of a 6 pack.....you are probably right.

Well, I stand corrected, there are a couple of them out there......I get the drift now, if there is but one or two conservatives out there that want to bomb abortion clinics then I can say that conservatives want to bomb abortion clinics right? That makes it so much easier to debate here....I presume that the conservatives on this board will stop getting upset when a liberal posts that conservatives _____________________________________ (insert anything you want as long as one conservative has ever said it or done it)

This is going to be fun!!!!!

What you fail to see because of the partisan blinders which have become a permanent addition to your thought process is that all of these proposals and laws come from traditionally "liberal" locations and require the support of far more than "one or two" liberals to become law - it requires the support of a significant number of liberals in those areas, not just "one or two".

It’s still illegal for non U.S. citizens to vote in federal or statewide elections, though a handful of jurisdictions around the country have passed measures to allow it in local contests. They include municipalities in Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts and New York. Under the 1996 Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act, federal authorities can deport an alien who falsely claims to be a citizen in order to vote.

http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2010/ ... mmigrants/

You don't see Holder's DoJ filing lawsuits to stop implementation of these laws which run afoul of federal immigration law, do you? Illegally migrating to any State within the union is a violation of federal law and any law which seeks to protect these individuals or grant them any of the privileges or immunities of citizenship would also therefore be an usurpation of the authority delegated to the United States by the Constitution. If these municipalities wish to grant legal immigrants access to local government by extending to them the ability to vote in local or State elections, that is entirely consistent with the principles of co-ordinate levels of republican governance which the framers sought to create. Allowing those here in violation of federal immigration laws the same access, however, is not.

FWIW, I wholly support the idea of legal immigrants voting in local elections, but the laws seeking to liberalize access to the vote need to distinguish between legal and illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants should have no access to any of the privileges or immunities from any level of government that citizens have, even if they are the parents of children incorrectly identified as citizens under the 14th Amendment.

I do not support the right of legal immigrants to vote until they obtain their citizenship.

I have a buddy who is a Canadian citizen- been here his whole life on a green card- and he can not vote. He pays plenty of taxes- but until be becomes a citizen, he should not have a right to vote here.

He does have the right to vote in Canada.
