Caught red-handed for what?
NC soldier, 23, was last US troop killed in Iraq

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — As the last U.S. troops withdrew from Iraq on Sunday, friends and family of the first and last American fighters killed in combat were cherishing their memories rather than dwelling on whether the war and their sacrifice was worth it.
Nearly 4,500 American fighters died before the last U.S. troops crossed the border into Kuwait. David Hickman, 23, of Greensboro was the last of those war casualties, killed in November by the kind of improvised bomb that was a signature weapon of this war.
GREENSBORO, NC (CNN) -- The war in Iraq officially came to an end Thursday, and a North Carolina man is the last to die in the fight.
Army Specialist David Hickman, marks the last American soldier to die in the nine year war. The 23-year old from Greensboro, North Carolina was killed November 14th in an I-E-D explosion. Friends say being a part of history is fitting for Hickman's outgoing personality.
Army Specialist David Hickman died on Monday Nov. 14th, 2011. The Iraq war officially ended Dec. 15th, 2011. Cortez died in Bahrain after the official end of the war. President Obama didn't mess up anything. But you dropped a big load of poop on the floor.
What I find funny is that Otis and a handful of other posters here think that they have it all figured out.... Yet they never seem to leave the house as they are always posting on here.

And so jerk-wad Dude has to jump in here with a cheap shot and slam Otis because he made a mistake. Classy.

I don't care. This thread was started by Otis, Otis may have made a mistake, and you came in here and took a cheap shot at him (and others) and didn't add jack to the conversation (which you rarely do anyway). Talk about idiot. It didn't take much intelligence to drop in some snark on here.
What some seem to forget, is that unforunately many more will and have died as a result of the Iraq war. Just because they are not "in country" does not mean they did not die as a result of the war.
You do not have to be in combat to recieve the PH, you have to be in a combat zone. It is usually at the determination of the medical team doctor who has to sign off on it, then the unit CO.

Sleep well knowing that those who defend you are doing just that right now and risking their own lives to defend your ability to make fun of them.
Ha. Nice try at diversion and finally pulling the patriot card. But I wasn't making fun of them. I was making fun of YOU and your trumped up accusation. You're just too stupid to realize it.
Let me spell it out r e a l s l o w f o r y o u:
Dying in a vehicle crash in another country after the war ended is not counted as a combat death in Iraq. Your own link even says "non-hostile." So, Obama didn't make a mistake. You did. I'm embarrassed for you.
