If there was a Dem governor, what would the same picture look like now and what kind of future would that state have by going down the same losing path?

On March 7, the NEA, the nation’s largest union, transferred $3 million to its super PAC, the NEA Advocacy Fund. A week later, that super PAC sent $500,000 to the We Are Wisconsin Political Fund, a state-based independent expenditure group headed by the state AFL-CIO’s president.

In early April, the SEIU sent two contributions totaling $500,000 to the We are Wisconsin PAC, which makes direct donations to candidates and parties.

A third public sector union based in Washington, D.C., AFSCME, has set up a special account for the Wisconsin battles... Two weeks before the primary, the national union wrote a $500,000 check to bolster We are Wisconsin.

We are Wisconsin and a second group, the Greater Wisconsin Committee, saw an infusion of union cash for Barrett’s second attempt in May. We are Wisconsin got another $500,000 from the NEA’ Advocacy Fund on May 7 — making for a cool million from the teachers union super PAC in under two months.

The American Federation of Teachers also chipped in $350,000 in May.

We are Wisconsin has spread its wealth too, sending $1.3 million in May to Greater Wisconsin, a one-stop political shop comprised of a 527, a (c)4, a PAC, and an independent expenditure fund.

In late May, Greater Wisconsin took a $500,000 donation from AFSCME and $900,000 more from the Democratic Governors Association to fuel a final online, radio, and TV ad push in the week ahead of the vote.

You may be right... but the outside money for the unions in Wisconsin may have not been enough.

Things were getting done until the new members of Congress came in in 2010 and their motto was clearly "NO COMPROMISE" and of course, the only thing that the Senators wanted to do was make sure that Obama was not reelected, so they blocked anything that could help the economy. I have lived for 57 years and have never seen it like it is now, even when Clinton was in office and they were out to crucify him every day, they still got things done. This is different and now it is being bought outright. What a waste of taxpayer money and everyone's time to spend the entire session in recall.

My idea is to limit everyone to one consecutive term in office. That way they are not out raising money while they should be working for us. They could run again, but they would have to sit out one cycle. oh, and overturn the citizens united ruling and limit campaign time to 3 months before any election, period.

You mean 2008-2010? What was getting done? Where is the Presidents budget? Can you give me a list of jobs bills passed? Gitmo is closed? I must have missed that. Half of what is $15,673,229,738,379? That health care thing... hmmmm... the Supreme Court thought there was enough concern with that bill to take it up as a case. And remember what President Obama said at his Nobel Lecture, Dec. 10, 2009 "We lose ourselves when we compromise the very ideals that we fight to defend. And we honor those ideals by upholding them not when it's easy, but when it is hard."

Does the left have such a short term memory?

The new Dem governor of NY state is making some major cutbacks but he is getting no flack for it nationally. Nice to have the media on your side.
