............................"For 40 years, we've heard how salt raises our blood pressure and causes life-shortening hypertension. Turns out that's just a hypothesis, though, and studies supporting it are remarkably thin. Meanwhile, a paper in the New England Journal of Medicine and research in Italy have found that reducing salt intake can lead to heart disease and premature death."........................................
Back in 7th grade (1970's), I watched a film in class about hiking and it encouraged people to take mega doses to replace the salt you lost sweating. Funny how health concerns go in and out of style.

My MD told me to drink Gatorade or something similar and take salt tablets when I'm out in the heat and sweating profusely. I hate Gatorade so drink Propel. I do much better on this when I'm in the heat.

This is why it's important to get regular well-checks when you are healthy in order to establish a baseline on your blood pressure and electrolytes while keeping track of your sodium intake/day (and sugar/calories/fat/etc). If anything is outside the norm (while you are otherwise healthy), then modify your intake accordingly and re-test. Moderation will be different for everyone due to genetics and environment, but everyone should fall within normal bell curve guidelines for blood pressure and concentrations of all the electrolytes and proteins that they measure in urine and blood based on age and body weight.
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
