Pretty cool. Apparently sunset should be a good chance for a view for us in the U.S.

Here's the NASA page with various livestream links: http://sunearthday.nasa.gov/2012/transit/webcast.php

And you liberals thought all us conservatives are anti-science. Besides my occasional interest in astronomical events, I have a rather professional collection of meteorites and various collections of mineral, rocks, fossils, ancient artifacts and greek and roman coins and spend a lot of time reading archeological magazines and articles.

So there!!!! :sunshine:

I said nothing of the sort - in case you hadn't noticed, this liberal avoids generalizations like "all", "never", and "always" tongue: My kids use those words with me and it annoys the hell out of me.

I'd offer to compare my rock and mineral collection to your rock and mineral collection, and ask to see your greek coins, but that sounds way too suggestive (and mine are still packed up in boxes). rofllol I love it if you have all that though - it pleases the geek in me. Thanks for starting this thread!

NASA provides rare images of transit of Venus
By Pueng Vongs

Sky watchers gathered across the country Tuesday to witness the planet Venus floating across the face of the sun—but chances are they didn't see it like this.

The best seats in the house belonged to NASA, which captured images from its own high-tech spacecraft. The Solar Dynamics Observatory, or SDO, is the most advanced spacecraft ever designed to study the sun, and it provides images with a resolution eight times better than high-definition television, according to NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.
