“Food stamp spending has more than quadrupled, four times, it’s increased fourfold since the year 2001. It has increased 100 percent since President Obama took office,”

If Obama can't create jobs for them he can at least have them fed. And BHO cured the empty nest syndrome all those 20 somethings moving back in with their parents.

And what are the masses eating? Many urban fine dining establishments are honoring the federally issued Electronic Benefit Transfer card including the Scottish restaurant, KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut. Not only are the masses being fed, they are being fed wholesome, nutritious food. I'm sure Michelle would agree that dollars under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program are being spent wisely.

Remember this experiment?

The plot thickens, is Barry secretly reducing the size of the lower class and poor by letting them eat themselves to death?

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

In the low-ceilinged canteen, deep underground, the lunch queue jerked slowly forward. The room was already very full and deafeningly noisy. From the grille at the counter the steam of stew came pouring forth, with a sour metallic smell which did not quite overcome the fumes of Victory Gin.... Winston and Syme pushed their trays beneath the grille. On to each was dumped swiftly the regulation lunch - a metal pannikin of pinkish-grey stew, a hunk of bread, a cube of cheese, a mug of milkless Victory Coffee, and one saccharine tablet. (1984 - George Orwell)

Maybe because those "below the poverty line" are being elevated to the middle class (tax free to them and tax burdensome to the rest of us) by virtue of the program?

Ebony Martin, 34, was employed at the Illinois Department of Human Services when she created a phony state file for her boyfriend, 38-year-old Keith Jones, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

In less than a year, Jones collected $21,866 in food benefits, the Daily Herald reported. The couple also sold some food stamps to friends and family members at half price.

Over $21K in direct assistance in under a year? Really? Approaching $2K a month worth of "safety net" to "help" feed a family of four? And that's just one federal program. What kinds of subsidies are the "poor" getting when it isn't a fictitious family that is on the government dole? We'd have Section 8 housing to assist with rent, other subsidies for the lights, heat and phone, a day-care subsidy, welfare, probably some form of public transportation subsidy (in addition to the subsidy given to the public transportation provider) and who knows what else. By the time all is said and done, this family whose annual income is below the poverty line is being subsidized so that the money flowing into that family is above the median wage. That's not "poverty", it's redistribution of the "wealth" paid in taxes by the rest of us. Why should they have our "wealth" redistributed so that we are subsidizing the "poor" to the extent that their effective annual incomes are above the median wage for families in the union?

Please refer to me as Works... or RW for now on :) For reasons which will be left unsaid, I am a bit of an expert on 1984 due to one of my income sources.
