Some illegal aliens are more legal than others?
Well, at least he doesn't have a zero tolerance policy.
No, if you read my post, and the executive order, some illegal aliens pose more harm to the United States than others. I believe most reasonable Americans would prefer those who commit felony crimes, those who are terrorists, etc. to be a higher priority for deportation than those who serve in our Armed Forces, or who are seeking a higher education.
But you are only looking at part of the executive order. Giving them permits to work here legally to only some of them is a lot different than putting them low in the order of getting deported. It would be the difference between towing some cars but other cars get a free parking pass.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
He made it pretty clear that the "work permits" were NOT a "path to citizenship", and only intended to allow them to get jobs in conjunction with their education... But, hey, that would imply that somewhere "in a land far, far away" there was such a thing as a "compassionate conservative"...and we KNOW that's a "fairy tale"... rofllol rofllol
One other thing to consider, think this new "interpetation" of existing law will encourage or discourage illegal immigration? Central American & Mexican families are probably already planning to take their kids across the border.

The memo (not an executive order, my bad) does not grant work permits, only places their deportation at a low priority. No where in the memo is the term work permit mentioned, that is just a conservative lie.

In case you missed what that reporter asked Obama- He said "why do you favor foreigners over Americans?".
And Obama said "because it's the right thing to do for America". Obama does not even challenge the fact that he favors foreigners over Americans.
With 28 million Americans either out of work - or under employed, the very last thing that would be "good for America" is to in effect grant amnesty to a few million illegals so they can work here legally and displace American workers.
While there is an unlimited amount of wealth that can be created by individuals- there is a limited number of jobs available in the market these days, allowing those who previously had no right to work here - now can take those available jobs away from qualified Americans. There is no shortage of qualified Americans who are looking for work- and the fact is that this status is not going to change anytime soon, poerhaps for another 8 to 10 years.
I just don't see where Obama thinks this move will come out in the plus column for him. Whoever is making these political calculations for him seem to be on hallucinogenic drugs- the unions don't like it, the average working joe dosn't like it- and a good percentage of legal hispanic Americans don't like it because it just creates more competition in a job market that already has more demand than supply.
This unilateral policy Obama wants bypasses the normal way we develop policy in this country- he is acting like a dictator. If this move is really "what's good for America"- he should have no problem doing things the right way.
Either way- we can straighten it all out on November 6.
Again, while I know it does not jibe with your talking points, the memo does NOT grant amnesty to anyone. It merely allows discretion in deciding the order of deportation. But hey, stick to your lies.
