Coincidentally it makes for a nice distraction from issues like allegations that classified information is being leaked by the White House. Are we talking about the same Eric Holder that has been charged with investigating that? Now all of the sudden Mr. Holder is in the spotlight, Barry defending him while Congress is about to charge him with contempt. Ironic that now would be the time that Holder is held accountable.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

If "executive privelege" is invoked, that means that Obama is involved in Fast & Furious.

Previously, Obama said that he does not believe that executive privelege should be used except in cases of national security. He has also denied any knowledge of Fast and Furious.

I wonder what the truth might be in this most tranparent administration?

GEE, that means that if Bush invoked Executive Privilege in "Operation Wide Receiver" that HE was involved in it!!

The difference, as you are well aware, between "Wide Receiver" and "Fast and Furious" (outside of the sheer number and types of firearms) was that the former was done in conjunction with the Mexican government and the latter never involved the Mexican government. In "Wide Receiver", ATF agents never lost sight of either the weapons or the suspects from the time the weapons were purchased until the time the Mexican authorities were made aware that the suspects were crossing the border into Mexican territory, at which time the Mexican government took over the surveillance and interdiction responsibilities. Foreign relations was most certainly an aspect of this operation as it was done in conjunction with the Mexican government. The same cannot be said for what Obama and Holder allowed to happen on their watch when in excess of 2,000 weapons were allowed to be sold and no effort was made to involve the Mexican government in the operation.

With Obama invoking executive privilege, the relevant question for him becomes one of was he lying then or is he lying now. Either Holder was preparing documents for the White House, which would mean that Obama has been lying through his teeth for the past 18 months when he says he found out about the operation while watching the news; or Obama is lying now in that he had no knowledge of the operation at all and thus whatever documents are being sought have no bearing on anything to do with White House operations - which would mean that Obama enjoys no privileges regarding the information as it never involved him in his executive capacity.

Quite the pickle Obama has managed to get himself into this time around. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy either.
