Wouldn't it be great if We The People could make the rules, or at least just one rule. Our only rule would be to have transparency, not smoky, nor foggy, but crystal fucking clear. My idea is this... We The People get to witness every single debate as well as every back door "bill machine" in the future. We get to monitor emails to and from lobbiests... sorry, there is no more "professional privacy" in government. You want to be a politician? Then you SERVE THE PEOPLE! You get great pay and benefits, but you start doing it our way. You've messed it up so bad and the system is so flawed with corruption and ineptitude, that we are now force to treat you like children until you've all grown up.
So we no longer have a need for a physical meeting place of our new politicians, because they can now work from home... just think about those cost savings for a monent.... did ya think about Jets at all? (not the NY Jets). Anytime there is a debate on the floor, we can watch it live, in fact, we can just look up people we are interested in learning about and watch them with the click of your mouse. There would be a schedule of meetings, debates, lobbiest conversations, or anything that would not be harmful if made public. All phone calls would be through computer as well and of course, we listen in. This way there are no friends made at work!... you want to be a politician?...ok, you make friends with your neighbors and you help organize your community (ya I said it ), which means you actually do some fucking work! So when you ARE at work, we can see your progress, we can learn your ideology, we can see your mannerisms and emotions. We can be educated about who we are going to hire for whatever percentage of our income you decide to take. You still make the rules, but we get to know why you make those rules. All communicaton among ALL politicians, lobbiests, special interest groups, or hookers will be the right of ALL AMERICANS.
I see this to be quite fair actually... ya know, the no privacy thing. I mean, it's not like we're watching them shower or anything (thank God), we are just protecting our inerests. We are tired or throwing away money on waste, fraud, and inefficiency FROM BOTH SIDES! Look at how little privacy our military gets... and look at how much harder they work, and how much less they get paid. Ya, crys me a fuckin river about your privacy... just don't take the job, I'm sure other smarter people would fill that salary.
And most importanty, we may start liking more of our political system again if we can see what they've done in their communities since they no longer have to fly to and from Washington. (thank you Algore!) This won't cause a flood of new average Joes to get into politics, but it will educate those who are there already.
Oh and one more thing... I'd like camera in every classroom in America... or at least the audio. I think it's time we learn what our kids are learning. (I know I said one rule and now it's three, but it's my dream rules and I'm stickin to em.)
So to summerize,, Crystal fucking clear transparency, politicians work in their community, learn what our kids learn. There's a few small details I've got to work out though
What's your fantasy rule(s)?
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
My rule for a long time was to have the house and senate have to fill out their own complete tax returns, pencil and paper, on April 15 on live television, CSPAN No accountants or Turbo tax.
Just forms and instructions.
If you want to be, press one. If you want not to be, press 2
Republicans are red, democrats are blue, neither of them, gives a flip about you.

Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.

That is a great idea! Simple and to the point... how could any politician object to that? rofllol

I also like California's idea on Budget deadlines. No salary for Legislature and staff if they miss budget deadlines. Guess what, CA passed a budget at midnight the day of the deadline. Pass this law at the Federal level.
