Dem breaks From Party, Plans to Vote for Holder Contempt

The Democratic Party’s resistance to holding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress is crumbling.

Utah Democratic Rep. Jim Matheson said Tuesday he plans to vote in favor of holding Holder in contempt over his refusal to comply with a subpoena into the Operation Fast and Furious scandal.

“It just compounds the tragedy when both sides play politics instead of releasing the facts. The Terry family, the public and Congress deserve answers,” Matheson said in remarks first reported by the Salt Lake Tribune in his home state. “Sadly, it seems that it will take holding the attorney general in contempt to communicate that evasiveness is unacceptable.”

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

I wonder how many Republicans will refuse to vote for a witch-hunt that is apparently based on a constructed narrative that never happened?

Not too surprising that there is a Dem who is more scared of the NRA than his own conscience....The GOP is full of them.

Well scripted, did the DNC e-mail that answer out to the faithful? The truth can be a real MF'r!

Clearly this Dem is just following the long standing trend of racist southern Democrats who can't stand to see a black man as attorney general.

Nah, I leave the scripted regurgitations to the party faithful, since most of them don't seem to be able to put together a coherent sentence on their own.

Didn't Nixon start this game...and then every elected official since then prop it up, locally, nationally, etc.

Kinda funny that those that kept the drug war in place (congress) are blaming anyone else for any of the crap and killings that come from it.

If you don't have a monopoly board, people will not play monopoly and the moral discussion of how many hotels seems somewhat silly after a certain point. Talk about a smokescreen, this is all by design, debate where to plant the seed, not which way the wind blows after harvest.

That being said, no love for Holder here, but he is an underling in Nixon's grand plan many Americans have bought into and quite literally contributed to - the blood of those that have died and been locked up is on the hands of everyone who supported the drug war, esp. citizens. No reason to focus on him when this is a group effort.
