From our Cousins across the Ocean

NHS doctors are prematurely ending the lives of thousands of elderly hospital patients because they are difficult to manage or to free up beds, a senior consultant claimed yesterday.

...but they said there would be no death panels...goverment appointed angels of death?

In America, health care facilities make money off fixing you. Dead patients don't pay.

In Europe, the more patients you have, the thinner you have to spread the care, because you don't make money from them.

I got news for you: the insurance companies ARE death panels in the U.S.

They decide if you live or die by deciding if they cover your treatment (if you a lucky enough to be covered).

And one guy making a claim isn't proof of something, particularly if it's from someone that's not even actually in the trenches. A consultant. Ha.

Source? I've got pretty average insurance and have had 2 types of cancer, a heart attack, blood clots, nueropathy, and more in the last 2 years... never had any issues with getting any treatment.

When you get health insurance, it's clearly stated in the policy what is covered and what is not. Not covering something that should be covered in the contract is an easy lawsuit.

So where is your proof that insurance companies are death panels?

Are you kidding me? You've never had your health insurance decline to cover a particular treatment, claiming it's "experimental"? Have you ever been at the end of your life and had a health insurance company decline further medical treatment?

Before Health Care Reform, were you ever denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition?

Yes I have, I also know there's an infinite number of scumbag lawyers drooling over lawsuits for experimental treatments that go wrong.

My doctors could not even condoone the use of MMJ for me (even though I assured them it was working) because there is no FDA approval. Insurance companies have to cover their asses like everybody else. You should be bitching about the FDA.

Aren't those British doctors going on strike?
