Colorado has been selected to send the National Christmas ("Holiday" ) tree to DC this year. The Forest Service has selected a 65 foot healthy pine to send. A Denver Post columnist suggested that we should send a beetle kill tree instead to emphasize the poor health of our forests. I believe that would also serve as a reminder of the consequences of the congressional do nothing attitude towards global warming.

Well since it is the forest service, the first question is, they sure the tree is healthy and won't be sending any pine beetles to remind them of the problem here?
