I read some time back that we still don't have the technology to even MOVE a single block that's part of the Pyramids. Not sure if that's true. The blocks average about 2 1/2 tons but the large granite stones in the ceiling of the king's chamber weigh between 50 and 70 tons alone.
There are 2,300,000 blocks of stone in the Great Pyramid. It would take decades, perhaps hundreds of years, to tear them down. I doubt explosives would do much, either.
doubt all you want, I promise you we have stuff that would level them no problems at all.

The claim is that they want to tear them down, not that they have a plan on how to do so.
