The Obama administration loses in the Florida non-citizen voter purge... now only legal citizens in that state(and soon others) will be on the voter rolls. I think it's funny to read some of the headlines like tthis from the Huffpo:
Florida Voter Purge: Feds Approve State Access To Citizens List
Isn't this a litte inaccurate and misleading? Would it not be more accurate to say "Florida Illegal Voter Purge: Feds Approve Access To Illegal Citizens List" ?
and then there's this:
In a victory for Republicans, the federal government has agreed to let Florida use a law enforcement database to challenge people's right to vote if they are suspected of not being U.S. citizens.
Why is this not a win for ALL parties and all legal citizens who have the sole right to choose our representatives? And to say that the Fed "agreed to let Florida use a law enforcement data base" ... that's laughable. They didn't agree to do it, they were forced to by the court because they were wrong.

I agree, and it would also help those legal citizens in other areas, not just for voting. And imo, there's probably not many legal citizens out there who could care less about having an ID, but do want to go through the hassle of voting. No source, just a guess.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

I've got an idea for all of those Voter ID law defenders. Let's go through with your plan. We shall require the federal government to issue free of charge to all living in the Unites States of America, that have proof of citizenship, a valid ID for no other purpose but to ensure the right of every citizen to a fair election. That it is incumbent upon us to issue a federal ID with picture which ensures our right to vote, and protects the integrity of the election from even the myth of the non existent voter fraud. But until everyone receives that free of charge, all information verified on the taxpayer's dime, federal voter ID that guarantees your civil right to vote as an American citizen born or naturalized, then being a registered voter and having your voter registration card should be enough to get us past these incredibly low amounts of voter fraud that you say are destroying our democracy.
How about instead have every state issue a free photo ID for not only voting, but myriad other uses? Like collecting benefits from the federal goverment? There is lot of fraud going on there.
So since you are against requiring photo ID for voting, where else do you think people shouldn't need to use voter ID? Taking money out of the bank? Buying booze? Picking up prescriptions? Boarding aircraft?
Traveling to different countries?
