Actually the press usually gets it wrong, and I talked to the officer's superior who says the wife dropped who she was right off the bat.

So you really believe a beat cop, after finding out his boss had just arrived at DIA, would tell the bosses wife to take a hike?

If he wasn't that fond of the boss, yeah, I can see them doing that. It's not like the boss can fire him - he's a public employee represented by a union after all. What is the boss going to do - find a less glamorous duty than directing traffic at DIA for him to do?
