"You didn't build this" Others may have laid the foundation, but the owners willing to take the risk built the business.

It's Not True.

Here's what he said: "If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen."

The THAT that the Romney campaign has thrown a bear hug around is the ROADS AND BRIDGES from the sentence before the sentence that they have removed and held it up on it's own. It's truly dishonest of the Romney campaign, the RNC and the media to take this totally out of context of the paragraph he actually said.

This isn't a gaffe, it is a pure lie against President Obama. It's the worst example of a sound bite and using it against another candidate is so highly unethical that I seriously question the judgement of the people to have perpetuated it. I mean, c'mon, play hard, but play fair. This attack shows the character of the Romney campaign and Romney himself.

And it's not You didn't build this, it's you didn't build that, the roads and bridges.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

No, it's the cliff notes. Use the whole quote, it does not make him look any better.

He sure as hell did say it- and I heard the entire speech- re-read the entire quote, and you know what?

The message was not taken out of context- even considering the entire quote- it still means the same thing.

I hope the republicans ride this for all it's worth, but to be honest- there's hundreds of stupid things like this that Obama has said.

And the thing is- he actually means these things. This type of thinking and train of thought is straight out of the communist manifesto- Americans need to know!

I heard it myself, "you did not build this".

Plus he implied that the people that were succesful business owners were just lucky. No talent necessary.
