Apoplexy at the Olympics Opening Ceremonies....

Well, I've seen enough of the Opening Ceremonies to know that at least all of the teabaggers here must be going apoplectic.

They had a segment that acknowledged the Industrial Revolution by celebrating...[gasp]...THE WORKERS!! SOCIALISM!!

And, THEN, there was a segment that honored that socialized-medicine system, the NHS!!! Eeeek! SOCIALISM!!
(We're still waiting to find out if Romney knows what "NHS" means... I'm sure as soon as he figures it out he will be incensed...)
But that's okay...His staff is already working on some commercials where they cut in some footage of the crowd applauding his insensitivity....

I think by the time the Ceremonies are over, the Righties here are going to need some serious medication.....

Is it just me, or do these opening cerimonies so far seem kind of boring in comparison to the last summer games?

Got to admit, the Chinese really knew how to put on a show and get thousands of performers to perform in perfect lock-step while all generally looking the same in colorful uniforms. Maybe they were just doing it for the free health care? But what do I know... lol

Leave it to miss civil to take a great world tradition that is suppose to bring people together around the world and within our own country, and use the occasion to proclaim once again, that she HATES THE FUCKING TEABAGGERS!!. Ya, we get it.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

I liked the forging of the rings. I could have done without the whole teenage romance thing, but the music wasn't too bad.

LJ, go spit. Get off your political high horse for just one second (if you're able) and enjoy watching (and cheering for) some of the best competitors in the world.

I think the Olympics have actual competitions with winners and losers. And the awards stand actually has the winners standing a full head above the losers.

OK, I liked the ceremonies better after the parade. Great fireworks! I just hope they didn't burn London down nor singe Mitt Romney's hair.

Sir Paul did great! Good for him!

Let the games begin!

Yeah, the whole English history lesson thing was tedious.

Huh? So we got a history lesson tonight? I thought it was the Olympics opening ceremony, silly me. What did you learn that was new and important to you? I guess I missed the whole English history lesson there since it seemed familier to me. OK, I guess it's kind of like River Dance then...

No wonder they ended with the fireworks and Sir Paul. lol

The dawn of the industrial revolution with the smokestacks going up and the machines making the rings. Perhaps you fell asleep during that part.
