Moderators here favor a hateful liberal

There is no "new" standard, it's the same as it's always been. We don't go by individual posts, we watch the thread overall and see if it's heading in a direction that destines it for a more appropriate forum. Moderating is not an exact science, threads morph and change as people post, and this site was born on, and continues to operate by, the principle of minimal moderation and members' personal responsibility. We are not going to start splitting out every single thing because what one person deems an insult, another doesn't care, and we are not going to start interfering to that degree b/c then we'll turn into something that y'all don't want. If you don't like what someone posts, call them out on it, skip over their post and address someone else, or put them on Ignore/Foe and Don't Take It Personally - you don't know that person, they don't know you, and their opinion of your beliefs means squat. If there's something that you believe needs to be looked at by the moderators, hit Report Post and we'll happily take a look. We moderate only when asked to look at something, or when the overall tone of a thread or the whole forum deems it; it's up to all of you to post how you'd like to be treated back. The Courthouse is for respectful, serious debate and the more even-keel it is around here, the more participation you'll get from many other members - wouldn't that be a lot more fun than going around and around with the same folks all the time? If you want to go after someone personally, we've got the space for that too - we've provided the outlets for you, use them wisely.

And it is an insult to me if you think that because moderators share a similar ideology that that gives them a pass - there are plenty of examples I can show you where nasty remarks by conservatives have been left in the Courthouse (just do a search on some of Teddy's or Nmysys's or Residenttroll's old crap if you don't believe me). The posts that have been split off recently include BOTH liberals AND conservatives (didn't you see VL's whining about his threads being moved?), but some of you seem to focus on the conservatives being split and think it's unfair and complain about the unfairness of one of the liberals being left - so I ask, who's showing partisanship??? I don't see conservatives publicly posting that TLGT's shit needs to get moved when he gets nasty...just sayin'... :Whistle

Look, the point is, this site is not about hard rules, and moderating is an art not a science (to be honest, I sucked at art in high school, even after 4 years of it, but I still love it and try to improve!). Sometimes things just get starred, sometimes things get moved, and sometimes they don't, but nothing gets deleted, members are not treated any differently because we either do or don't identify/agree with them, every part of this site is accessible, and being in the Ring is frankly not a bad thing (I personally love posting in the Ring - it's refreshing knowing I can let loose and let my potty mouth run free!). lol Well, I can see why those who post only in the Courthouse think it's a bad thing, but hey - there's a lot more to this site than just the Courthouse, get out and explore it already! Didja know we're in the process of upgrading? It's gonna be SO cool... :thumbsup:

I know the lack of hard and fast rules makes it confusing for understanding what does get moved, and what doesn't, as the guidelines are fuzzy, and that's why we encourage you to report posts, and PM us with questions. We are just trying to make this a fun place to interact with your neighbors online, get some good debate going, share viewpoints that you may not have considered before, and expand your horizons (maybe a little?). If you need to vent, we have a place for that where your post won't get deleted b/c you weren't "respectful" enough and were "taunting and baiting", and you can let off steam. We don't lock threads so they can come to a natural conclusion, sometimes even with an apology for the previous day's posts when someone was in a bad mood and now regret what they said. It's all good.

Including from you Darlin'! A little more sensitivity would be appreciated at times, because I know you're mostly trying to have fun, you just carried away sometimes.
