"A new integration bill (covering letter and 15-page action plan), which Dutch Interior Minister Piet Hein Donner presented to parliament on June 16, reads: "The government shares the social dissatisfaction over the multicultural society model and plans to shift priority to the values of the Dutch people. In the new integration system, the values of the Dutch society play a central role. With this change, the government steps away from the model of a multicultural society."

The letter continues: "A more obligatory integration is justified because the government also demands that from its own citizens. It is necessary because otherwise the society gradually grows apart and eventually no one feels at home anymore in the Netherlands. The integration will not be tailored to different groups."

The new integration policy will place more demands on immigrants. For example, immigrants will be required to learn the Dutch language, and the government will take a tougher approach to immigrants who ignore Dutch values or disobey Dutch law."

Many Western European countries are trying to tighten up their immigration policies and have been doing so for the last couple of decades. European countries that have huge entitlement programs are finally coming around to the fact that if everyone is taking from the pot and no one is paying back in that there isn't any wealth left to redistribute.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Holland? The canary in the coal mine. But many of their immigrants are actually revitalizing the economy. It is the exclusionary ones that want to force the rest of the country to adopt the laws of the minority.

So we are left with the quandary, more liberal immigration policies vs. potentially improving national economies. Germany has a program for guest workers and it's been very successful, I'd like to see a similar program in the US. Screen those who apply to work here for criminal convictions, deny those who don't pass the review and admit those who just want to make some money for a limited time. Let those who want to immigrate do so through the normal legal process and count the time they spent as guest workers against the time it takes to become a Naturalized Citizen.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
