The Space Program is alive and well.

Buzz Aldrin, an Apollo astronaut, strongly endorsed Obama's Space Program budget. He said investing now in better technologies could accelerate goals such as sending people to Mars. "I applaud the president for working to make these dreams a reality," Aldrin said.

The Manned Space Program was halted due to the shuttle delivery system being at the end of it's usefullness. But it was President Bush who set NASA on a path eight years ago to retire the Space Shuttle and rely on the Russians for space travel.

Yea yea yea- heard all that BS crap before- It's all Bushes fault!

Obama could have funded the shuttle program for a few more years- it OBIVIOUSLY has not outlived it's usefulness- since we now have to pay Russia for rides into space.

What a bunch of horseshit- Obama whacked the shuttle program, pure and simple.

We now have no way to launch a human into space.
Pitiful.

See, it is Bush's fault once again. Once "W" says something, there is nothing Obama can do to change it.

The shuttle program was due to be retired, and private industry was supposed to replace the delivery system, and they are progressing but for a little longer, we are going to use Russian rockets. (But I do wonder how much safer Russian systems are than old US Shuttles. I know I would trust a battered shuttle over a Russian capsule.)

The uniform size of the small gravel at the surface suggests material carried from the crater rim by water rather than debris blown out of nearby smaller impact craters. The wheel’s failure to dent the surface on landing shows the surface to be relatively hard. Scooping up the first soil sample may have to come elsewhere.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

PASADENA, CA—After initial transmissions from the Mars rover Curiosity provided multiple images of the Red Planet, officials from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory confirmed Monday that scientists are now pretty sure the surface of Mars is rocky. "There are still a lot more tests to conduct, and many additional research projects that will take quite some time to complete, but we are now more certain than ever that Mars is covered in rocks, and that those rocks are red in color," said JPL director
