Economy slowing, unemployment stuck at 8%. Both parties putting fall elections ahead of country.
Great job!

Executives at companies making everything from electrical components and power systems to automotive parts say the fiscal stalemate is prompting them to pull back now, rather than wait for a possible resolution to the deadlock on Capitol Hill.

“The fiscal cliff is the primary driver of uncertainty, and a person in my position is going to make a decision to postpone hiring and investments,” Mr. Powers said. “We can see it in our order patterns, and customers are delaying. We don’t have to get to the edge of the cliff before the damage is done.”

It was Bush's fault. Obama sucks. Romney doesn't pay taxes. Neener Neener. Thanks for playing.

I am not seeing that in my industry. People are buying capital equipment in the medical field before the ACA VAT cuts in. So we are already preparing for a bad first quarter in January. So that 8.3% could become 9% if Obama wins.

Me neither really, my last company is hiring, and I see a good number of job openings on the job sites I regularly search.

Another interesting note is the Labor dept. told defense contractors not to mail out layoff notices on Nov.1 as required by law. (60 days notice before the fiscal cliff). Mass layoffs won't look good before the election.

Read all about it at the Huffy Puffy post-

That Labor dept note is crap. "Follow the rules, unless it makes us look bad."

Hopefully the defense contractors follow the law and announce to thier workers to prepare for layoffs before Christmas.
