WESTLAKE OHIO -- Police have confirmed the identity of the man they said walked into a Westlake movie theater with a cache of weapons Saturday.
Scott A. Smith, 37, of North Ridgeville was arrested without incident at the Regal Cinemas 16 at Crocker Park just after 10 p.m.
A theater employee noticed Smith carrying a backpack-type satchel. Westlake officer Jeremiah Bullins, who was off-duty but working security at the cinema then followed Smith into an empty theater and asked to search the bag.
Inside, Bullins discovered a loaded 9mm handgun and two magazines of ammunition, along with four knives.
The incident occurred prior to a 10 p.m. showing of 'The Dark Knight Rises,' the same film that was showing last month when a 24-year-old gunman opened fire in an Aurora, Colorado theater.
I have been legally carrying concealed into theatres for 8 years now, I will even have an extra magazine with me, and a folder knife. Thank heavens no one has freaked out about it.

They didn't say "bagful of guns" they said "bagful of weapons" - he had 4 knives too.
What a reactionary idiot. Like the next shooting's going to be in a theatre again. :faint: He'd be better off carrying to a school or a religious gathering.

This just in... Brian Ross of ABC says he has been told by a source that this person is a Tea Party member. When asked for a confirmation of his source, Ross said he didn't have to prove anything and it was Romney's job to prove that this man wasn't a Tea Party member.

The original title of the thread, before someone altered the title, said "guns", not "weapons" - which is what generated the earlier comments about one gun constituting a "bagful" of them. Raees is just trying to hide their extremism, which is pretty much a wasted effort given the bountiful history of their postings.

There are certain posters whom (who?) it's wise to quote so when they go back and change history there's an accurate record of their original statement. Raees certainly isn't the only one to change stuff. It's a bit dishonest to not include a disclaimer of some sort when that happens, i.e., "edited to add .....".
