Paul Ryan Hypocrisy Revealed
Ryan sought funds while decrying stimulus

JANESVILLE, Wis. — In 2009, as Representative Paul Ryan was railing against President Obama’s $787 billion stimulus package as a “wasteful spending spree,” he wrote at least four letters to Obama’s secretary of energy asking that millions of dollars from the program be granted to a pair of Wisconsin conservation groups, according to documents obtained by The Globe.

The advocacy appeared to pay off; both groups were awarded the economic recovery funds — one receiving a $20 million grant to help thousands of local businesses and homes improve their energy efficiency, agency documents show.

Ryan’s letters to the energy secretary praising the energy initiatives as he sought a portion of the funding are in sharp contrast to the House Budget Committee chairman’s image as a Tea Party movement favorite adamantly opposed to federal spending on such programs.

Ryan’s views are garnering new attention since his selection Saturday as Mitt Romney’s running mate.

The documents show that Ryan’s attempts to take advantage of the stimulus funds even after he voted against them was more expansive than previously reported. Ryan was criticized by some House Democrats in 2010 after the Wall Street Journal reported that he was among several Republican lawmakers who sought the stimulus money for their constituents by, in his case, writing a letter in 2010 to the Department of Labor.

Golly, decrying the stimulus, and then trying to line-up at the trough... Well, I'm SHOCKED, I tell you, SHOCKED!

And, continuing to "win friends" with our allies, the Brits:

Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney's Running Mate, Accused Of 'Lying' About NHS

Tory and Labour MPs have defended the NHS after US presidential candidate Mitt Romney's running mate said "socialised" healthcare was detrimental to patients.

Paul Ryan said nationalized healthcare systems such as Britain were slower to develop lifesaving drugs and had a detrimental effect on the economy.

But Labour shadow health minister Jamie Reed hit back, saying Ryan's criticisms were a "lie" and that the NHS was one of the "defining achievements of Britain".

And Stephen Dorrell, a former Conservative health secretary, said he thought the vice presidential candidate appeared not to understand how the NHS worked and that it was not the "devil incarnate".

Sure, anyone is going to second guess Romney's choice, I second guessed it. But I don't think it will matter at the end of the election.

I do have a lot of sympathy for Ryan's wife and family. I can just imagine the HuffPo police in the bushes of the elementary school waiting to see if any of Ryan's kids are bullies or don't eat their veggies.

Seems that SFB can't wrap her mind around what happened before Janna Ryan got married and after she got married and started a family. Having some difficulty with dates are we? Even the partisans over at Huff-n-Puff managed to include that Janna ended her lobbying career shortly after she got married. What was Janna to do before she got married, sit at home stitching samplers to impress would be suitors of her exemplary homemaking skills?

So Paul Ryan is like most politicians, voting for TARP and the auto bailout, bringing pork home to his district and his plan wouldn't decrease spending, only slow the increase. Doesn't sound like a dangerous radical, sounds like a moderate conservative to me.

But in DemSpeak, they are no moderate conservatives because they are so far to the Left.

Yep... Just like the cheap-shot artists do to Sascha and Malia...

No difference... Too bad you don't have the same amount of sympathy for the Obamas....

Sascha and Malia will wind up as fat ass hag cows- just like their mommy.

Ryan is at least a conservative, and add the fact that he is a retail politician- he's much better with the people. He can speak better than Romney- and he's a much more articulate & likable guy than Romney.

And just who are these "GOP pros"- the article does not mention any names at all. If they are the country club republicans- then their opinions don't mean much of anything at all. We are in the process of getting rid of those progressive republicans- they are the garbage we have been taking out to the curb in the last few years.

Their opinions are out of date- and so are their big government politics.
