BLS must not shop at my grocery store

According to the BLS - the price of beef has hit an all-time high.

I'd like to know where they're shopping for $3/lb.

The price of beef correlates directly to the price of corn. It can take up to 20 pounds of corn for one pound of beef at the retail level (depending on the ratio of forage to corn). PS, I will be glad when they finish the construction on the south City Market.

I will check it out. I should have sold you all of that equipment at a greatly reduced rate instead of paying storage fees on it. I ended up donating it to a nonprofit for educational uses.

Current beef prices have toppled due to draught.
Ranchers are selling early and taking a beating.

Ranchers I know are currently 3.00 to 3.50 +/- hanging.

Exactly ranchers are cutting herd sizes. Time to stock up on a side of beef if you have the freezer space.

Martin Ent - that's what the ranchers are getting --- the grocery store charges more than what they pay the ranchers.

(I paid $4.25/lb).

Like I said - would love to know where BLS finds beef at $3/lb.

Well I don't shop at the grocery. Call a rancher and get you some.

However Costco has a huge sale going on. Our daughter just stocked up in the city.

7 weeks of plenty followed by 7 months of famine? Buy your beef now.
