Another shooting with a legally purchased weapon . . . .

A 28-year-old Virginia man was held late Wednesday on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon after a security guard was wounded in the lobby of the Family Research Council, a conservative policy organization, authorities said.

A law enforcement official said the gunman made some remarks opposing the Family Research Council's policies before opening fire.

A source working with the DC Center for the LGBT Community told CNN that Corkins had worked as a volunteer at the center.

For some odd reason none of the usual suspects were quick to draw our attention to this shooting. One wonders why that might be . . . . .

Putting on my tinfoil, anyone else think shootings are getting much more press than usual?

Good thing DC has such strict laws on gun ownership and very few approved gun shops.

Will the FBI be investigating this as a hate crime, or domestic terrorism?

Will his defense team try to claim the “Twinke defense, claiming he had one too many chicken sandwiches?

Except for any firearms supplied by fast and furious, you never hear about those.

Speaking of chicken sandwiches . . . .

Corkins, who told FBI agents that he acted alone, was allegedly armed with a Sig Sauer 9mm handgun and carried with him two magazines, 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and fifteen sandwiches from Chick-fil-A.

Didn't someone on this board just buy a big order of Chik-Fil-A? Almost $80 worth?

Corkins, who graduated from George Mason University in Virginia with a master’s degree in education and human development in 2006

In my opinion that degree should be classified as a WMD.

It's not enough to check the sanity of gun owners ---- someone should check the sanity of people studying education.
