WE'D TELL YOU, BUT THEN WE'D LOSE
Romney Adviser: It's 'Politically Unwise' To Campaign In Specifics

So far, putting Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) on presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney's ticket hasn't led to any detailed plans for his top issue, the budget. That won't change, according to a Romney aide who spoke to Politico.

"The nature of running a presidential campaign is that you're communicating direction to the American people," a Romney adviser, who is not named, told Politico. "Campaigns that are about specifics, particularly in today's environment, get tripped up."

The issue of the budget, particularly taxes and cuts to entitlement programs, is a pivotal one for the election and is one both campaigns are trying to exploit. For the Romney campaign, that has meant accusing President Barack Obama of decimating Medicare by taking funds from it for his health care law, even though that is a false claim. Ryan's own budget would transform the program to make it almost unrecognizable.

Ryan said earlier this week that he plans to discuss tax plans, but not until after the election.

"That is something that we think we should do in the light of day, through Congress," he said Tuesday on Fox News.

So, let me get this straight...Mitt-the-Twit and Howdy-Doody are campaigning on how they would cut Medicare, hand Granny & Grampa a voucher and wish them luck, and then wanting to give the cuts to the millionaires & billionaires in the form of more tax-cuts, while trying to claim that the Obama cuts (which would be given back in the form of benefits for the insured, and CUTS TO THE PROVIDERS for their waste/fraud/abuse) are bad?

But if they tell you what they would do, they would lose... (So, they'll tell you after the election?) rofllol

You can't make this stuff up.... rofllol

Yep, their mantra is the usual Republican line: "Trust us"

"Remember to always be yourself. Unless you can be batman. Then always be batman." Unknown

Reminds me of the 2008 campaign, Hope & Change. Or outright lies, like "will cut the debt in half".

So you're saying the Republicans are lying in 2012?

Probably. But we know for sure Obama lied about reducing the debt load.

WP Opinions
Romney advisers confirm it: We’re running a `just trust me’ campaign

By Greg Sargent

I noted here yesterday that Mitt Romney is running a “just trust me” campaign, in which his lack of specificity and transparency extends far beyond just his tax returns, to his bundlers and to large swaths of his policy proposals. Intriguingly enough, Romney advisers have now come right out and confirmed the thinking behind this strategy.

In a development that Dems are pouncing on right now, Romney advisers spelled it all out in interviews with Mike Allen and Jim VandeHei:

Advisers say the campaign has no plans to pivot from its previous view that diving into details during a general-election race would be suicidal.

The Romney strategy is simple: Hammer away at Obama for proposing cuts to Medicare and promise, in vague, aspirational ways, to protect the program for future retirees — but don’t get pulled into a public discussion of the most unpopular parts of the Ryan plan.

“The nature of running a presidential campaign is that you’re communicating direction to the American people,” a Romney adviser said. “Campaigns that are about specifics, particularly in today’s environment, get tripped up.”

And we know for sure that Bush lied about WMD's....

And we know for sure that Cheney lied about outing a covert CIA agent...(among other things)...

And we know for sure that Romney lied about Obama "gutting the work requirements for welfare"...

And we know for sure that Ryan lied about getting over $21million in stimulus money for one of his cronies ("for 7,600 jobs"), while regurgitating the usual "The stimulus didn't work" Rightie-bullsh*t.

I guess if you call not being able to do something because of obstruction of the other party "lying", then that's your problem.
